100%

A&M was a great addition to the league

Adding A&M was the best move the SEC has made in terms of membership changes in the league since the league was created in 1932. It was a great cultural fit, A&M has great academics, a great all around athletic department and loves being here.

Texas and Oklahoma might work, but I don't think either will be as good an all around fit as A&M was.

Anyone who thinks their toxicity isn’t going to cause problems is delusional.

It’s a bad move for fans of the SEC, but big players need their payouts.

We don’t need Texas and Oklahoma for competition. We meed less cupcake games. Texas and Oklahoma won’t change that.

Ironically, as much as LSU fans are celebrating this, I think it’s going to hurt their program more than it is A&M.

They'd have to beat us first.

Ohio State and Notre Dame are the only programs in the country that could go toe-to-toe with Alabama in terms of influence as members of the SEC. Texas/OU, while behemoths, just don't have "it.“

Not really. Notre Dame has a large, wealthy alumni base, but probably a more diverse background when it comes to how they donate their money. In other words while many donate to athletics/football they are more likely to care about the academics and university as a whole. Bama alum with deep pockets only care to spend on football and Donald’s 2024 campaign. OSU probably somewhere in between the two.

If large, wealthy alumni bases were the end all be all then Texas should have dominated the Big12 and Stanford should be running the Pac12.

Yes, the long list of schools expelled from the SEC gives weight to your words.

Exactly, because every single program has gotten in line and played nice.

The SEC is Bama territory. Texas will have to bow and kiss the ring here. The crown will not belong to them in the SEC. Better be okay with it or not come.

Ok, now the conspiracy theory center in my brain is tingling.. You A&M baws and EKG have convinced me. I'm against this. Hell, the REC is probably behind it.. They are straight up whores. You know those North River Yacht Club lawyers would bend over for Longhorn money George.. Don't even deny it.

Nobody thinks Alabama or anyone else in the SEC will allow Texas to do that.

The issue is that Texas really thinks that they can come in here and call the shots. We’ve seen what they do to other conferences when the other schools don’t now down to them.

No shot. Bama is bama and this is still the south. Love them or hate them, they have a lot of power within the conference and if Texas thinks they’re going to change that they’re soundly mistaken IMO.

ETA: this is not the big 12. The other member teams like LSU, auburn, Florida, Georgia would never let it get to that point.

You are the one mistaken! You do not know what other schools thought at first and then boom! Little by little it will show their true colors!
