re: I doubt this happens but Finebaum did have really good point on Texas and OU to the SEC.

The problem Texas has (and to an extent OU) is that as long as they stay in the Big 12 it is viable and if they leave they will completely screw over Tech, Baylor, TCU, and OSU. Politically there is no way that Texas can do that unless they get A&M's full throated support both to join the SEC and to screw over those other schools.

There is some truth to this statement. I’m not sure how the politics play out on this one. But at the end of the day, I think Texas could go the Independent route if needed, or at least threaten it. Not sure if that would matter either way.. at least it makes the off-season more entertaining..
