Working for Bama for now...
I think NIL will level the playing field somewhat. Just look at some of the wealthiest fanbases. This is a list of the Top 20 schools as measured by the total estimated wealth of ultra-high net worth alumni:
Stanford - $2.9T (a distribution of over 5500 individuals)
Univ of Michigan - $691B
Southern Cal - $548B
Texas - $463B
Northwestern - $389B
UCLA - $375B
Miami - $309B
Univ of Virginia - $246B
Notre Dame - $179B
Link to the article below. BTW, UHNW is defined as individuals with a net worth of over $30mm. This list was based upon those individuals only. Additionally, just think about all of the non-UHNW millionaires big-enrollment schools like Texas, Ohio State, and Texas A&M produce.
If one of the top schools on this list wants to be a contender, they now have NIL as a tool in their bag to get to the top echelon. Arguably, none of the schools on this list is currently a contender (unless you consider ND) – good programs but not contenders.
If the number is now $2mm for a top-tier QB, what happens when someone like Michael Dell drops $10-15mm on that kid? May be more difficult for schools in poorer states (and less affluent fan bases) to compete.

ha. People like this guy would sacrifice his own team if it would hurt Alabama.
This is just another LSU fan talking about what's gonna hurt Alabama, just before Alabama uses it to their advantage.
Most of those institutions are run by raging liberals that hate football anyway.

^^^This is all wrong. Alums at many of the wealthiest schools don't give a crap about football. This is about marketing and whose alums care the most about college football. That's us. Bama. And, being the QB at Bama is the most marquee position in college football. I remember a friend of mine had a professor at Ohio State who was from NYC. The professor told my friend he's a Bama fan because in the 70s they would see Bama on TV every week. Bama is simply the king of college football. Deal with it. Our Madison Avenue profile casts a shadow on the rest of college football.
