It did not happen

“ Clinton Yates, the journalist who broke the story was just interviewed on Finebaum. Complete made up BS. No one was even removed from the stadium. Also, Tracy Rocker is one of the black parents. I dont think he needs Yates to protect him every couple of innings. In fact, right now he is back tracking on Twitter with the "Mississippi State fans want to meet Kumar Rocker"

Yates stated:

1. He regularly covers Vanderbilt's baseball team and, at every game, "he goes to check on the Vandy parents because they have 8 minority players on their team, and, as a black man, he wants to make sure they're okay."

2. Before the game, he went to "check on" the Vandy parents. He could "immediately see that it was a very hostile environment because they were outnumbered by MS State fans." There was "a lot of chirping coming from MS State fans to the Vandy parents." Yates stated that he "could tell that the environment could easily escalate into something dangerous for the Vandy parents." Yates leaves the Vandy section and goes back to his seat.

3. Yates stated that he returned to the Vandy section in the second inning (obviously after Vandy scored 7 runs). Yates said at this point, he heard MS State fans saying "completely inappropriate things" and "vitriol" at the Vandy parents. Asked to give an example, Yates said MS State fans were yelling at Vandy parents that their "kids should earn their scholarships like every other team." Yates goes back to his seat and does not return during the game.

4. After the game, so-and-so said to Yates, did you hear what happened? Yates asked what. The guy apparently told Yates that a bunch of MS State fans called the Vandy parents the N-word. Yates said, you mean the fans in [Section __]? "Yes, those fans."

Finebaum then asked Yates if any fans were kicked out of the stadium. Yates said no, but some were "moved around." Yates said that "this isn't the time for me to give you specifics as to what happened. But it happened. There is no reason to believe that it didn't happen based on the environment that I saw."
