Basically we are either good in Football while terrible in everything else or we are good at everything else while terrible in foot ball, so which would you choose?

During the 21-5 run by Petrino, the basketball programs were terrible, the women's sports were terrible, the baseball program was middling.

During Franks run, football was great, everything else was terrible.

Exceptions would be 78-79, all men's sports were great.

Now we have a middling football* program and what seems like an elite program in literally everything else on campus; Men's Basketball top 10, baseball and softball top 10, women's basketball top 25, elite women's track, below bar men's track but still a top program, so would you rather have this or a top 10 football team and middling to terrible everything else.

Pittman has his contract started over, do we ride it out and give him time depending on bowl games landed and he doesn't make a complete jackass of himself off the field? How much is a reasonable amount of time for him to win a conference title of some sort? Muss earned a lot of leeway with his elite 8 run, is there a certain bar he needs to meet yearly? Does he need to do more in conference?

*7-9 win football team could still likely be ranked in the top 25.

Football I'm ok being average there. Too much bias from the NCAA for the blue bloods.

Plus, I'm just more of a basketball and baseball kinda guy personally.

We knew when we joined the SEC that football was on another level than what we left, and our program was down at that time as well. I don't for a minute regret leaving texas behind.

We've had some decent success in football but having other sports to look forward to is great for a Razorback fan.

I believe Sam will improve our program to at least a spoiler level, seems we have always been David against the Goliaths

If Pittman gets to a bowl game and his recruiting improves every year. He will be here the length of his current contract. That would put him at 64-65ish.

And if there is any slip, I would expect to see him gone with our program in the best shape for a new coach since Nutt left.

21-5, easily. Having a top 10 football team creates a buzz and statewide excitement the other sports just cant match, and im more of a bball fan than anything.

Football has become so silly that I don't even care anymore, although I do hope for the best for those who still do.

We aren't sacrificing football to be good at everything else.

The Petrino situation sank us, and we are still digging our way out. If Pittman turns out to be our football Mike Anderson that gets us back to the ability to really compete, I would be happy with that.

In a perfect world, he's the guy and takes us there himself. Either way I feel like he has us pointed in the right direction, but W-L record may not tell the story.

I'll take what we have now instead of being a one sport program. I believe Frank wanted Arkansas to be good in other sports and not just football like the big three.

if Pittman can get Arkansas to 6-6 each year then that is improvement. He will probably retire in 3-4 years due to health reasons.

If Muss can make the NCAA tournament each year then he has met expectations.

While I would love to be great in football and still enjoy our current level of success in everything else... on the whole I'm enjoying being top notch in a wide variety of sports.

So many SEC schools seem to be one sport wonders but once that sport ends for the year you are kind of stuck just twiddling your thumbs. And God help you if the sport your school lives for has a horrible season like Kentucky did in basketball.

I think it all comes down to the AD as your overall level of success. Long didn't do a bad job at the second and third tier sports. He is, however, notoriously bad at doing background checks. People warned us Petrino had the ethics of a weasel on speed... and they were right. People warned us Bert was a lazy drunk riding Alvarez's coat tails at Wisconsin... and they were right.

Hunter, so far, has done an amazing job at directing our sports. I think he will get us over the hump in football as well.

Every other. In football it’ll continue to be Bama, Clemson, Ohio St and OU in the playoff. A random other team every now and then

I'll take all the other sports for $500 Alex. With the new transfer rule the big SEC programs will continue to out pace us on the football field.
As long as we're not a bottom feeder football program like we have been in recent past, I'll be pleased.

I just don't think we'll see 21-5 again.

I’m happy with what we’ve got right now as long as Sam can get us to 7-9 win consistently. Then eventually we’ll get a break or 2 and get into the double digit win column. If he’s doing that I’d never fire him for not winning the sec. basically if you gave me auburn under gus I’d be content. I don’t think it can be said enough just how bad bert and Chaggie was for us. We may not be blue bloods in football or have the best in state talent but they were historically bad coaches here

I really don't think we have the potential in football (in the SEC) to ever be consistently great. History should have taught us that by now.

In the other sports, yes, we can be consistently great.

Hell, in football, we are fine with averaging 7.5-8 wins per season over a 5-10 year run with the occasional 10 win season. We aren't that hard to please in football.

I'd rather be damn fine in basketball and baseball every year.

Give me a decent football team that not embarrassing and all the other sports please. The realities of us sustaining success at a high level consistently in football arent something fans should dwell on.

A bowl game every year, major bowl game or 10+ win season every once in a while.

As of now we don't have a baseball or basketball natty (since 94), so I'd take 21-5 over that.

Now if we start winning baseball/basketball titles then I might change my mind

7 or 9 wins consistently would be a lot better than what we've been getting recently

But we do that enough, and our program prestige goes up. Then we get closer to the current blue bloods of college football. Gotta walk before we run, small steps.
