A thread to discuss if Saban (GOAT) will make it to 10. Yes or no? Explain your reasoning. If not 10, how many do you predict he ends up with?

I rather not predict how many more and jinx the guy.

I think he gets to 9 before retiring. Wins 2 out of the next 4.

I think he definitely gets to ten. I see him coaching another 7-10 years. He's just wired differently. I can't imagine him retiring and sitting around all offseason and just doing commentary during the season. He's a machine.

Probably. Nick just recruits at an elite level. That's where it all starts.

A more fun question is will Coach O get one more championship before Nick gets three more?

Really just depends. He’s In good health now but grandpa time catches up quick. I doubt he would want a Bobby Bowden type situation developing down the road.

frick. I hope not but you gotta imagine he gets at least 1 with Bryce.

Nick is 69.

I’d put his o/u age to retire at 75.5

So 6 or 7 more years.

Man I’d put their o/u on nattys at 2.5

If it were my money I would take the over and I fricking hate it.

Let's analyze his record.

He's coached college football (excluding Toledo) since 1995-04 and 2007-present.

Championships and appearances:
2003 LSU
2009 Bama
2011
2012
4th place finish: 2014
2015
Runner-up: 2016
2017
Runner-up: 2018
2020

He's visited the BCS/CFP 9 out of 14 seasons he's been at Alabama, and of those visits he's won 6. (Does not include his 1st at LSU.) Out of his 14 seasons, he won a championship in 43% of them.

So it's safe to say he'll take 4 out of 10 championships if he's around for 10 more seasons. That's a long tenure, though.

I think he'll get to 10.

Saban has established the best organization and system in college football and attracts the best talent top to bottom providing depth. Each position is typically strong every year and injuries do not tend to slow them down due to depth at each position {exception 2019 depth at LB and DL}.

So as long as he continues to separate BAMA from the pack BAMA will win as many championships as long as Saban stays and his coach in waiting continues the same system

9

Doesn't win this year, but has back to back 15-0 seasons in 22 and 23. He retires after the 23 season.

I think he coaches for another 3-4 years before retiring. Maybe he can win 1 or 2 NCs by that time.

He's got another decade in him at least (health permitting). NIL, free transfers and playoff expansion will make things easier for him (as if he needed the help )

I actually think it's harder now than it was. You used to could win the NC with great defense and a solid offense. Now I think you need a super QB and super elite WRs to score at the flip of a switch. I also believe Tua and Mac were both incredibly rare talents that we're not going to get every year. Maybe we can get 3 very good WR's but I'm not sure we'll have it as good as we did the last 2 years. The good thing for us is with as much overall team talent that we usually get we'll probably have enough to get it done once or twice again. But, it might not be at a 50% clip like the last 12 years.
