I checked today where he went in the draft and I was shocked to see him go in the fifth round. He was projected in the top ten in some mocks earlier last year. Jeez should have opted out. Do you think Devonta Smith abusing him hurt his stock that bad?

He was having a bad season before the national title game. He’s either exclusively a slot corner in the NFL or he moves to safety in a system that is looking for a ball hawk. He seems a bit stiff when playing tight coverage and tends to lose steps due to his WR having crisper movements in their cuts and such. He actually tackles pretty well for a corner. He seems to prefer playing zone to man responsibilities. He wants to be able to play the ball when on the outside you almost always gotta play the receiver first and foremost.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is about 10lbs bigger but I kinda had the same feelings about him while at Alabama. He was only alright as an outside corner in 2016 after being a nickel corner in 2015. He moved to safety due to injuries at some point and he really flourished.

I think the Phins wanted him to be a corner/nickel player for some reason I could never figure out and it is no surprise that he flourished when traded to the Steelers and put back at safety.

Gotta wonder if Wade could do the same thing?

He took Najee on in the open field and solo tackled him pretty well. That didn't happen to Najee a lot.

So this is a good point and a good analysis. Safety might be his best bet.
