Saw where Bianco had his 900th win today. Were we making “fire bianco” type threads the year we made the CWS? Just curious. This tough because we are top 15 every year, but can’t get it done in the post season. We’d kill for that caliber of consistency in basketball or football. But the disappointment in baseball every single year is just brutal because we always lay an egg in the post season. It’s hard to imagining firing Bianco given our lack of success in pretty much all sports. Ideal scenario is he retires and we don’t have to fire him

I think it has to do with having top 5 recruiting classes but can’t ever get over the hump.

The Ole Miss fan base has had a quick trigger for a long time. There were numerous instances where people said “Fire AK” or “Fire Cutcliffe,” whether or not those coaches deserved it.

Our biggest thing with Bianco is that he hasn’t progressed since he finally broke through to the CWS. Since then, the closest we have been was in 2019 against Arkansas in the super regional - we were out scored 25-3 in the two games we lost and 30-16 total in the series.

This season was a “show me” type of year. We knew we had some of the best talent in the entire country before the year, so the onus was on Bianco to put it together and return to the CWS.
If the postseason ended today, I think we can all agree that making the CWS wouldn’t be likely. If Bianco can’t take a team as talented as the one we have this year (disclaimer - we have had more talented teams than this) and get back to the big one, when will he?
