You would think with his vast experience as a judge he would understand this killer needs to be off the streets. Which cast more doubt as to actions of this judge and the rich family.

Odd being in his 70s he would want to be involved in case like this unless something else influenced him to take it and make this unjust ruling.

The entire case stinks from day one.

That influence would be their paycheck and their word.

Judges in Alabama are among the highest paid in the nation and also have one of the best pensions. When a judge retires, they understand as part of that retirement they can be called back to hear cases as needed. They don't pick up the phone and volunteer, they're assigned to cases by the state Supreme Court. Unless they've got real conflicts, they're duty bound to take those assignments.
