but he is gonna switch to PG and get drafted in the NBA in two years?
He is looking at an uphill climb either way. There have been guys who were really good shooters and around 6'3 who made it to the NBA as shooting guards. Just saying if I was Shack I would be in the gym working on shooting instead of trying to switch to PG.
JJ Redick shot 39% from three in college and shack is at 35, it's not impossible.

That's a much more fair comparison. He's a nearly 45% 3pt shooter for his career though. Really though, doing everything in his power to become a 45% 3pt shooter would probably be a more likely route to the NBA for Shack than playing PG for a team that tries to keep the score in the 50s.

Yeah, he isn't gonna be as good of a shooter as a Curry, but if he can get above 40% from three, that would be his best chance.

As a fresh and soph.
He was 42% as a senior.
I don't think there is a good NBA comp for Shack, because he isn't even close to skilled enough to be an NBA player imho. Maybe he can get to a point where can be a setup 3P specialist, but he's going to have to imrove big time, because there are guys with much better size and versatility that can shoot better than him that can't make the league right now.

To clarify, I don't think Shack will ever be an NBA caliber player player regardless.

Agreed. His basketball future is overseas. But as I think most of us have said at this point, it's tough to fault him for doing what he thinks is most likely to get him to the NBA. I don't think anything will because he's not going to get bigger and he's not going to get more athletic, but obviously that's a difficult reality for a kid to face. Especially if he's got people he trusts giving him shitty advice.

the thing i keep thinking is pretty simple. i watched shack make multiple bad decisions on shots per game last year, on his way to being the leading scorer. i'd prefer not to watch him trying to shoot his way into the nba on my favorite team this year.

Jalen Washington committed to UNC, was one of our 2022 targets.

This season is going to be so crucial to the future of our program. Another sweet 16 or elite 8 run and we probably build a new arena and start signing 5 stars regularly.

Had a great conversation with Auburn assistant Steven Pearl today. He was scouting some of the best talent out of the state of Georgia (as usual).
We even spoke about how folks on Twitter think “Tipton is a bammer”— assured him that wasn’t the case. #WarEagle

Said he wants to be in Tuscaloosa for a long time.

Watched the first quarter of Alabama vs Furman, Gurley looks good, he scored their first 5 points. I thought he played the 5 for them but he has played the 4 the whole game so far. Easily athletic enough to play the 4 for us, he has been guarding Herb a lot so far and has done a good job.

And overseas is not the end of the world. Erwin Dudley played 14 years in Turkey and made plenty of money before he was 35. Levi Randolf has played G League, Italy, and is a star now in New Zealand. Richard Hendrix (How old is he now?) is still playing in Japan. Talk about going out and seeing the world as a young man - and getting paid good money! What a great life! Was he able to take away Herb’s jump shot?

Look at how smooth he looked out there.

I'm honestly not sure i've ever been happier getting a commitment than when it was announced Tchikou reclassified and committed to us.
Gerald Wallace was a big deal for me at the time, but I think the Tchikou news coming almost out of nowhere after I spent damn near a year talking him up to anyone that would listen is the biggest one for me.

IMO he has a much better chance at shooting over 40% from three than switching to PG now and being an NBA level PG in two years.
Shack isn’t quick enough to play at a high level at PG.
He is pretty fricking slow
