Pretty sure that was a mistake, but if he committed to us while he was in Fayetteville, that would be truly savage...

Hopefully someone in the know jumped the gun and was asked to delete it so he can announce it himself.

Some hilarious tidbits...

quote:

Was told he enjoyed the visit at Bama but remains open, so yes Arkansas is still in it. GN expected to arrive late afternoon on Thursday. I'm told his family likes Arkansas more, but opportunity and NIL combo will carry the decision. We shall see.

quote:

I'm told 'Bama has more money on the table on this one, and as most know by now he had a strong favorable impression following his visit there. How significant a difference in the $$$? I don't know, but if it was signifcant I'm not sure he would not have just committed to 'Bama and skipped the Arkansas visit. As I mentioned in my post last night, he's expected to arrive in Fayetteville late this afternoon (he has a LONG travel day today, left Tuscaloosa around 9ish this morning).

IMO, he's going to need to be blown away on his Arkansas visit. I have no doubt that it will be advantage Hogs when comparing Arkansas' practice to 'Bama's, and comparing the presentation Muss and staff will have regarding how they will use him, help him improve, help him understand expectations of a pro, etc., to what 'Bama showed him. Both programs can boast the exposure aspect of this (Tide play a tougher non-con with more big national-stage games, but Hogs have been better in NCAAT with more games and big-stage tilts in postseason). Bama actually has a few more NBA 1st-round draft picks during both coaches' tenures, but relative to transfers it's not been a positive factor for either school. Again, I was told the family favored the Hogs in what they liked coming into the visits, for what that's worth.

I think Arkansas is in this, but I think the Hogs have at least a little bit of ground to make up based on all the feedback I've gotten to the point of making this post.

That one has a few nuggets of truth mixed in with some intense denial and blatant bullshite.

How is it that I love the Arkansas football fanbase but can't stand their basketball fanbase? They have to be different people right? I don't see the same anomalies in the Kentucky fanbase. Just weird

Far more of the latter than the former. Have mercy. Sports fandom would be quite the psychological case study. People simply believe what they want to believe with absolutely no basis of reality in many cases.

From a guy that covers Arkansas. If true I am not sure why Nelson would commit there or even visit really.

Was there any elaboration on this?

Just curious why they would (allegedly) prefer it prior to visiting.

They're like your old buddy from when you were a kid. Your lives and time pushed you apart. But when you get together, is like a day never passed. But they kept partying the same way as when y'all were kids. They're fun for awhile. But when they start drinking, you remember why y'all don't get together as often.

Hell no. They're fricking crazy. But I will say, that could be their version of tide fans. But they think we tossed a huge bag at him to be in it, while their system, draft pedigree, and love of Arkansas has them clinging on against a huge bag. Arkansas. The school that was never mentioned until a week ago. That Arkansas.

So yeah, just hilarious, delusional message board bullshite.

Arkansas basketball has kinda become what Brother Hugh era Ole Miss football was. Literally everyone sees what is going on for what it is besides their own fans, many of whom have convinced themselves that consistently becoming involved with high value recruiting targets at the 11th hour has everything to do with the quality of the program and absolutely nothing to do with money.

I heard this too from a couple of people I trust.

If we get Nelson then according to on3 we will have landed the #5 and #6 transfers in Estrada and Nelson. I hope this dispels the myth that we don't have any NIL money for bball.
