Disagree if a team has good pitching we are screwed...out guys are terrible against quality arms

We ran into elite arms, the nations best, every weekend in the SEC. My point is we won't see those arms in a regional. Just look at the Kentucky game. They are a NCAA tournament team that we feasted on. We won't see another SEC elite pitcher until the Supers or CWS and it's anyone s game at that point.

from the SEC weekly baseball release ...

quote:

South Carolina ... is making its league record 24th consecutive SEC Tournament appearance.

South Carolina has won 11 of the last 13 series over Tennessee, including an eight-series win streak from 2007-14.

The Gamecocks have swept the Volunteers in seven of the last 10 series. UT won the last series in Knoxville in 2019 but has not won a series in Columbia since 2006.

During that span, the Gamecocks have won the last six series at home, including four sweeps.

In fact, Tennessee has only two series wins at South Carolina since it joined the league in 1992 (1994 & 2006).

more from the release about Carolina's opponent and the rare air they find themselves for their historically unaccomplished baseball program.

quote:

Tennessee has matched its high in a 30-game conference schedule with 18 SEC victories
and is in the hunt to win its first SEC title since 1995.

The Volunteers have won all four road series, something they had not done since 2001. They have never gone 5-0 in road series.

A series victory would give them their most series victories in a season with eight and give them
at least 20 league victories for the first time since the 1995 team went 22-8.

Tennessee is making back-to-back SEC Tournament appearances since making three straight from
2014-16.
