You know I think there is a lot involved, and one of the things Foley established was that he would give great support to all the teams at UF.

Like I mentioned this is an interesting discussion that I have heard Florida fans speak about at length, particularly before the last renovation of the Swamp. If I hear about an SEC team having this great swimming team every year and winning championships, I would expect if I went on campus they would have one of the nicest swimming facilities in the nation. And be heavily invested to continue to pay for the privilege.

I've been to Arkansas, and I've seen their Randal Tyson Track and Field complex. Their investment is second to none in that sport nationally and they recently just added another 15 million more dollars into something they call a track operations center. In looking it up it says, the new facility will dedicate approximately 22,000 square feet to combining and expanding many of the program’s daily operations and training needs that serve over 100 male and female student-athletes.

In addition, the Randal Tyson Track Center, already considered one of the best of its kind in the world, will see $5 million dedicated to phased improvements. The track surface will be replaced, new graphics installed and audio-visual upgrades made. Enhancements are targeted for completion in advance of the 2021 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships to be held on the University of Arkansas campus.

Isn't this a perfect example of what it takes to stay on top and about as relevant as any school in Track and Field?
I would imagine that when a track and field guy and gale hits that sports complex on a recruiting visit and see the investment in them, recruiting takes care of itself.

This is just one example of an SEC team that is heavily invested in other sports. In the meantime, Razorback fans wonder if they will ever win big in football again. In that, all sports is really an arm's race in the SEC, and as expensive as hell, could one heavy investment have something to do with another?

I think at Florida, it's a lot less about the facilities and more about the inherent advantages UF has. It's similar to the California schools and how they do so well in the non-revenue sports. Huge talent pool. Good weather. Great TV exposure. Highly rated public school. They get a lot of internal support from the AD as well, but Florida's facilities aren't going to blow anyone away.
