Clovis were made by the 1st people in North America 12000 to 15000 years ago. Matter of fact the oldest archeological site in America is in SC.

Not to derail the fight thread with archeology....but there’s a dig below the Savannah River Site on the SC side where they’re claiming to find tools that predate Clovis....which isn’t supposed to exist. Google “The Topper Site”.

My dad was an arrowhead buff...used to take us to walk clear cuts looking for arrowheads. Yeah...that’s as fun as it sounds when you’re 11 years old. Found one legit Clovis point. Pretty cool now...

My mom has worked the Topper site as a volunteer. It's a different type of archelogy than she's used to (mostly in the desert SW) but she says it's an amazing site.

I've read about the Topper site. Extremely interesting due to the carbon dated age of the material found. Seems North America was populated a lot earlier than we previously knew.
Here is a great article.

Interesting coincidence also regarding that SRS area. Google Carolina Dog or Yellow Dog, UGA researchers found packs back there. Began researching them and found some really interesting things.

Same. My father found one in Barnwell County.

They're far and few between. Finding one is one more than most ever will. I have tons of morrow mountain, Savannah river, and guilfords. That seems to be the time period I'm in depth wise. In general the 5000 to 6000 year ago span.
