The run game hopefully gets the passing game to open up more this season. It sure is nice to know going into spring practice and the season that it'll be something the coaches can lean on.

Messiah? Thats quite the title. Don't know what i said to have you going that far.
Have you read the way you speak of the great one?
For Example:
But I'll give ya my reasoning to support him wholeheartedly. He's our coach.
Young. Energetic.
Cool, that doesn't mean squat. When you cant recruit because no one wants to play under your high school staff. Hows he going to work out exactly sitting in the next Jadeveon Clowneys living room? Ya know right after Dabo, Saban, Orgeron, Kiffen etc just left? "Come to Carolina, I'll hopefully be here your junior year. And your position coach has never put a player in the NFL.
Already loved Carolina.
So did Ray Tanner, want me to cover how thats worked out?
Hungry for the opportunity.
Uhhh yeah, because no other football team on any level of college. Not even the University of Arizona at the Grand Canyon School of Mining and Hair Care Design would have hired him. You get that right, he was on not a single other coaching hire list in the entire globe. Not even a college team in Germany (they have that by the way) wanted him.
He's coached all over the field.
Ok, I'll give you this one. The only positions he hasn't coached are Dline and Qb's.
Put together a solid staff.
I think your definition of solid and my definition of solid are way off.
He isn't likely to bolt if/when he finds success.
100% correct, he's more likely to be fired in 3 seasons when he doesn't.
He's likable and comes across great in interviews.
Cool, so was Obama, maybe we can hire him next.
Worked under legends. Is extremely knowledgeable about recruiting and roster management.
100% agree there
And he chose SC to make his name at.
This one actually made me laugh. Yeah, he shut down offers from LSU, Bama, Clemson and Texas. He def chose us, it wasn't at all our BOT choosing him.
And his name carries some weight already due to his family pedigree.
How'd that work out in his first recruiting class? How'd that work out with coaches bailing and no one of any caliber wanting a 2/3 year job? His Daddy was somebody, lets not make out like they're the Bowdens.
He's done a good job so far and handled the Auburn departures with class and hired pretty good to replace them. We dont have bad coaches. At all.
How else was he supposed to? They bailed because they knew it was a 2/3 year gig. I'm sorry you think we have good coaches and he hired pretty well. Literally know one wanted any of what we hired.
And he has reached out to former players to bring them back into the fold.
In my opinion this was the one thing he'll do right that we've always sucked about.

Goodness youre a lot of fun at parties arent you halfcocked....
I guess let me ask you this. Do you think Dabo is a good HC. As much as we all hate him, do you think he runs a successful program?
because before he took over, "Not even the University of Arizona at the Grand Canyon School of Mining and Hair Care Design would have hired him". He was a little ole WR coach who actually was a decent marketer/manager and it worked out. His schtick is annoying, and worn out, but it works. Dabo's story while rare also proves there isnt much of a formula to hiring coaches, not named Nick Saban. Beamer at least deserves an opportunity to have a few games before people start writing him off.

Yes
He is one of the best coaches in the country

He's running a great program. A simple test to him being one of the best is simply, how well do you think he could replicate his success anywhere else besides maybe Bama with a smooth transition from Nick?

So what do you mean by this?
As if he left Clemson today and went to another school? Or go back in time and he went to say Auburn instead of Clemson?
Posted on 2/10/21 at 5:42 pm to I Bleed Garnet
Originally meant the first, but I'd be interested in your thoughts on either if you think it makes a difference.

"I'm sorry you think we have good coaches and he hired pretty well. Literally know one wanted any of what we hired"
And yet they all were employed. Who would you/ COULD You have hired if you were in Beamer's place? Why in your eyes are Beamer and his assistants bad hires? Be specific about each coach since you bash em so as a group. I see a ridiculously talented special teams coach. Good defensive coordinator who has been nominated as a Broyles award guy 3 outta 4 years, running my favorite defense ever at Carolina the 4-2-5. I dont know a lot to judge Satterfield on but havent seen anything to make me dismiss him outright. Good wideout coach and recruiter with Stepp. Good rb coach. Adkins, Good o line coach. Peterson stayed on staff. Kimrey ought to transition well as TE coach. Torrian Gray is pretty decent too huh....If i missed anyone you can remind me in your dismissal of each one

If he left Clemson tomorrow and went to another school he’d be completely fine
He’s an already established name with multiple titles
He’d do fine, just like Urban Meyer and Nick Saban had done
If he goes back in time, probably depends on the school

To me, the competitive advantage he has that even keeps him in the running is his ability to attract talent. I couldn't even tell you his coaching style, other than keeping it "all in" the family under the lord's watchful eye. Yet, he has an All-SEC roster playing an ACC schedule. I'm just not sure that good ole boy schtick picks up and moves as well as Saban, maybe Meyer, but look what that does to the poor guy.

It doesn’t matter
He wins.
That’s all that matters
Urban Meyer ran a program that was full of criminals, we know this because as soon as Muschamp kicked them all of the team. And he brought it to Columbus and won there too.
So what I’m saying is if parents will send their kids to that, they’ll send their kids to Dabo

Which brings me to the next point. Even if Dabo does maintain his talent gap, what the hell is he coaching that makes him great? He wins 1-2 big games a year with usually all his players, that he likely gets to gameplan for all year bc of the ACC schedule. There really aren't a lot of schools he could pick where he could maintain his current roster talent (like anywhere outside the SE) and where that roster talent would be so head and shoulders above the rest of the conference that it really doesn't matter how he coaches.
Obviously Saban doesn't have that problem. He's made his name on an identifiable coaching style, and has even shocked the world by building a team of analysts to evolve his game. Meyer at least made his name as an offensive guru before he made it big. I trust when he moves, he's installing his offensive ideas wherever he goes.
But what is Dabo bringing? Skelator and his 9 man box? His Chad Morris based offense? At best he brings his staff, but what does his staff even know besides how to win against a bunch of highschool talent with an NFL roster?

I'm looking forward to the 2021 season. I hope USC has a good team as it will make every East team better. I'm curious how USC, Vandy, and Auburn will do with new coaches, and if Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Miss. State will progress.

Beamer was sold to the fans with the " he will hire a fantastic staff" and instead we got the coaches from the " B" side of a 45 record.

How many power 5 jobs are there? You're telling me there aren't great coaches at smaller schools? Not everyone gets a chance what with the recycling of coaches we see here in the sec. Just bc you arent a big name yet doesnt mean you shouldn't be. The video of the RB coach posted earlier in this thread the guy comes off cool as hell and knowledgeable. Ought to make a fine recruiter with his personality. Kind of like a Tennessee version of Lattimore with his injury. You would've supported a Lattimore hire correct? So why bash this one. He actually has a much better resume that M.L tho. As for Clayton, what do you not like? Besides your same old same old small school jibber jabber all the haters like to spew. Its funny how just a sliver of optimism brings all the never happys running to try and drag us back down. (Singing- "We dont need no optimism! We don't need no positive troll!" Find a positive about the team occasionally. It won't hurt. I promise. Try having a little fun?? Because you realists seem to be competing to be the most real. Never in a good way. Thats why y'all dont have any friends! Hahaha! Thats also why posters from other boards come over and start threads calling this board dead. And i thought misery was supposed to love company!

Got a commitment from a 2021 O lineman this evening. Colin Henrich, a 3 star guard with a few nice offers like LSU, West Virginia and Tennessee
