I have really enjoyed mine. It is my first really nice grill...never had a BGE or pellet smoker do I wouldn't know how it compares to those. I have the 560 model but they also have two larger options

Really simple to use though. Just load the hopper and get the coals going and then it has a fan and temp probe that regulates it. It gets up to 700+ in like 10 minutes from being completely cold.

It is relatively new and does have some issues they are trying to fix. I haven't had any issues with mine yet but a lot of the ppl in the Facebook group get their lid switches melted and have to bypass them. The app that is supposed to control the temp sucks apparently, I've never used it.

I've cooked on it probably 20 times since I got it. And for me I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Super easy to use and produces great grill flavor. I used some hickory chunks yesterday on a turkey breast...just stuck them in the hopper vertically and poured charcoal around them. Turned out great.

The only issue I have had with my pellet grill is that the auger underneath the hopper that feeds the pellets into the grill can get stopped up requiring you to take things apart to free the auger. LINK If the auger us unable to move freely then it will not feed pellets into the grill’s firebox. My advice would be to keep this part of the grill as dry as is possible so that the pellets and that portion of the grill remain dry. Of course if you can keep the whole unit stored in a dry place that is even better.

I do not know whether your charcoal grill would have a similar issue—most likely not because I doubt charcoal would get gooey like pellets.
