Does Bama remind anyone else of Loyola Marymount with hank gathers and bo kimball. Really solid well coached team. Good defense really good offense.

I’m not suddenly going to pretend I’m a basketball fan but as an Alabama fan I can say this is the most excited I’ve ever seen the Alabama fan base excited about anything more than a football NC. But following that up with a competent basketball team has a lot of them on cloud 9.

I'm old enough to remember those teams at Loyola Marymount. They got up and down the floor in a hurry!!! Sadly, they lost Gathers, collapsed and died before the NCAA tourney, or they would've been problems in the tourney. BAMA played them and Wimp throttled them as good as anyone that year.

I feel like everyone needs to chill. Alabama played a team that apparently doesn’t think defense is worth their time last night. I’m going to hold off reading too much into this admittedly hot start to SEC play.

College basketball is such a defensive game in comparison to what it was back then. Loyola averaged 130 points in their first two rounds of the NCAA tournament during the 1990 season. There must be countless Sweet 16 teams since that didn't even combine for that many points in their first 2 games

They sorta' do, but don't shoot near a quick as LM did. They remind me more of our F4 team of 2 years ago. Last night was amazing

I'm not sure Loyola Marymount and the term "good defense" were ever used in the same sentence. Did you watch them play? Half the time it seemed they were happy to let the other team score so they could get the ball back.

We got a beat down last night but we’re still an ncaa tournament team. It’s good to see other names in the conference in the mix besides UK. It’s good for everyone to be honest. It would be cool to see this Bama team or any sec team for that matter make a sweet 16 or elite 8 run.

That Loyola team played in Atlanta. I was on the flight with them going to the West Coast. Bunch of big dudes. As soon as the seatbelt sign went off they all stood, no legroom in airline seats. Even the coach was about 6’7”

Actually Loyola Marymount was a terrible defensive team. Gave up over 100 points a game most nights. They just outscored you by getting up as many shots as possible.
