Rock bottom will come when the NCAA comes in and asks the university for a copy of their investigation. If it is good enough to fire Pruitt and dump Fulmer, then it will probably be good enough to result in a five year probation and a loss of 10 schollies a year. Pruitt and a couple of assistants will get show cause rulings and no major school will hire them. Even Saint Saban will shun his child.

Tennessee will face minor recruiting restrictions and Pruitt and Neidermeyer will get show causes.

If they fire Pruitt with cause, they are basically admitting guilt. And, that is never a good thing with the NCAA.

No. The program has hovered between rock bottom and mediocrity for quite a while.
If the NCAA comes over the top on this issue and finds anything, it could be rock bottom. Having no idea what the charges were that justified firing with cause, but assuming recruiting violations, UT may be in a dangerous position if the NCAA wants to use a major SEC and historic CFB program as an example that they still have teeth.
