PFF regarding ND's OL
PFF is almost worthless (unless it props up a desired conclusion :-)) BYU and Buffalo? Come on. That sounds like a computer's conclusion. Need humans to intervene when a computer makes a fool of itself. You know, kinda like the College Football Playoff Committee vs BCS computers.

ND probably has a good OL, but 3rd behind BYU and Buffalo. That's embarrassing. That's like saying Coastal Carolina's 10-0 (before they had to play mighty Liberty) record means it is better than Clemson and ND who are 10-1.

BYU and Buffalo?

Their grading is based on their individual plays. Their grades can’t take account things like supporting cast, sample size, and level of competition. It’s not a ranking. They have Damien Harris as the no.2 highest graded RB in the NFL but they think Kamara (no.5) is still better.

Well they can’t say, “as a non-P5 player, the highest we can give you on this play is a 6/10.” Think of it like 4.0 in a Ivy League school versus getting one in a small local university. Not the same level of difficulty but they can’t just deny you an A. By your logic, no matter how well they play they can’t put non-P5 teams up there . That’s why they separate from P5 and non-P5 sometimes.

That being said, they probably don’t put as much effort into college grading as they do pro.
