The real issue imo is the proliferation of the social media look at me generation. College upperclassmen have essentially grown up on social media and being incredibly self absorbed. People can blame the playoffs all they want, but if that was truly the case then why didn't we see this shite during the bcs era? From 98-13 there was literally only one bowl game that "mattered" but you never saw people quitting to train for an extra month. Big bowl games were still big and still meant something. All it took was fournette in 15 to quit on his team to start the trend now it's commonplace. These kids have grown up in an instant gratification society with no real sense of committment to anything. That's the problem, not the playoffs

No, it is 100% agents in their ear. The minute they opt out, they can stop school, stop being amateurs and get advances...cash advances.
