My memory isn't what it used to be, but I honestly can't think of a single season during the BCS era where the #3 team was truly "cheated." Auburn in 2004 had somewhat of a legitimate gripe, but some of that is hindsight given what USC did to Oklahoma in the championship game.

And I don't even remember who was #3 in 2011 when LSU and Bama played in the BCS Championship Game. And I don't think there's any question that those 2 would have made the championship game in a 4-team playoff system. They were head and shoulders better than every team in college football that season.
