He was let go at Clemson because he was too young and way in over his head.

He wasn't let go at Arizona State. He was actually kept by Herm from the prior regime, but he took the ULL job instead.

Let go twice as a coordinator but successful stint taking over a solid UL program built by Hudspeth and maintaining the consistency. Seems to be able to recruit well.

Seems like he ascended the program more so than maintaining it

I am by no means an LSU fan - but ULL would lose by double digits to Bayou Bengals if they played this season

Hud left the program in shambles. Hud did put down a foundation showing that this could be a consistent bowl going program but he got fired for a reason. Napier has taken this team to unprecedented levels. UL doesn't go 11-2. 9-1, beat top 10 P5 teams.

Wtf?? You mean the same program that had a losing record the last 3 years of the Hudspeth regime? Sure he had four 9-4 seasons in a row, but Napier bested that by his second season against a much better sunbelt.

Napier is a much better coach than Hudspeth and I really hope auburn passes on him.

I would prefer Sark, but I’ve got no issue with Napier.

Same boat...but the more I read about Napier the more I like him. He's going to be good for Bo Nix I think. His players apparently love playing for him. Awfully hot water for a young guy with no P5 HC experience though. We'll see I guess.

Perfect. Should get auburn decent, but since he is a former Saban assistant there is zero chance of auburn ever beating bama while he’s there. This will piss auburn off after a few seasons, they will fire him after extending his contract and adding a huge buyout, Alabama gets him back as a coordinator that auburn is paying for.

Then South Carolina was stupid if they hired a career assistant rather than even offering Napier

Sark was the one they had zeroed in on, but his 75% buyout was not something that we are going to do again. Napier seems to be the guy that fans can settle on and the STOP THE STEELE revolt apparently scared the shite out of the deep pockets. At least we can say "thank the Lord for Tennessee!"

I was cool with napier if it went that way but to state he turned the job down is categorically false, nice spin jimmy.

In his defense, he wasn't let go from clemson for anything negative on his end. Dabo wanted to switch to spread offense and called up tChad

That makes no sense. Auburn type jobs just don't fall out of the sky.
