I didn't know cause it's not that important for me to GAF. My statement was we hired a bunch of(" nobodys") and having the wrong divison down doesn't change that 1 bit.

might lose every game next year, but this staff has passion. I don't know how much football they know, but they do all seem to love the University.

I love USC so does IBG, you and CG so why didn't we get an interview for the HC job?

Who said I didn't. I mean we've already established Ray Tanner doesn't know how to run a coaching search.

By every indication, Shane Beamer is a nice guy.

You know where nice guys finish, right?

Have you checked where Saban's current DC came from?

I'd take that further and say have you noticed that he's gone out of his way to hire guys with little to no SEC experience? Even the guys he's currently looking at to replace Sark aren't SEC names

I see you went with the associate DC instead of the actual DC who came from UTSA. In fact UTSA was the biggest school he'd ever coached at

Have you checked Saban's pedigree? He built his reputation as a defensive guru. His team is also loaded with 5 star jimmie n joes.
Our coach made his reputation off of his dad being a HOF coach. Apples and Oranges comparison.
He may be hiring guys that have little to no SEC experience while we are hiring guys that have no P5 experience at all.

I've been accused of being a nice guy but I dispute that and yes I'm in last.

Damn so even Lonnie turned Ray down.

That guy had no P5 either. My point was, and is, if you're wanting to be competitive in this league, you can't keep regurgitating the same schemes that have been used for years. Especially at a place like USC where we aren't going to have better jimmies n joes than the competition for quite a while. You have to go out and get guys who scheme and think about the game differently than the rest.

Also, bc of his pedigree, he could've gone out and gotten anyone he wanted. He actively looked for someone outside that scope. He's done it on offense as well.

Saban's pedigree allows him to take chances on coaches like that. When you have a genius defensive guy that can help the newbies out you can do that ( that and a team loaded with elite talent). We don't have that luxury. Our guys may do great but my point is this was not what we were told in order to sale us Beamer. The SEC is not the confrence to cut your teeth on without having a head coach thats been there and done that.

Do not get me wrong I will support our staff as I have in the past but so far Beamer isn't striking gold.

Recruiting is the most important thing to success so it does not help at all when you have to explain who a coach is to a kid instead of them knowing their name already.

Muschamp tried the name brand recruiter bit. Didn't work. shite, I can't be the only person who was absolutely stunned that we hired that guy who also felt sure that within 2-3 years our defense would be stacked. "Defensive genius" Muschamp wasn't worth a shite on his side of the ball when he couldn't just rely on superior talent to beat everyone.

Beamer fricked up and over promised, leading our fans to think we were going to pull a bunch of name brand coordinators. Given the state of our roster, is it the worst thing in the world to bring in some guys who have been forced to do more with less in their careers?

Hopefully you're correct that we will get better coaching to improve out roster but trying to improve that roster, through recruiting, is not easy when you're educating recruits on who their recruiter is and has accomplished. It also wouldn't have hurt to have an older, sec battle tested asst coach to help Beamer grow.

Personally I have a good feeling about the staff, especially defensively. I’ll admit I know much more on offense than defense, but from what I understand White is a 4-2-5 guy and that is a great scheme fit here

I agree on the 4-2-5. Great memories of that defense but we better hit the portal hard for that "5" part of the D.

They picked up a freshman that could probably do it I can’t remember his name though.

On offense it sounds like we’re going to a full spread, vertical passing game.

I’m waiting to see if Ryan Hilinski comes back
