And in that video, she didn’t kick it as far as they claim. That isn’t the whole length of the field.

Maybe they really dont like their other kickers
Because they can't kick it out of bounds? I mean, if you kick it out of bounds you get the exact same results you would get with her. Ball on the 35.

Guess she is hearing the chirping
I saw that, and it was very cringey. I saw it and thought, "If you want to prove folks wrong, you gotta kick a football. No one was out there saying you can't play soccer. This just feels... weak. Like saying you don't suck at Overwatch by showing highlights of you playing a League of Legends game."

Which is stupid on two counts... as she only kicked the soccer ball like 40 yards, and as it does nothing to dispel the narrative that she can't kick a fricking football very far. Why didn't she post a video of her kicking a football?

Did this actually happen?
Also, maybe they should listen to her if it did. Vanderbilt's women's soccer team just won the SEC title and beat the #1, #2 and #3 seeds to do it. Sounds like she could teach them how to pick themselves up and move forward.
You do know that in softball all the players crowd around the fence and clap their hands and do chants that rhyme, right? Do you want to see that in SEC football, too?

Your opinion is that a bunch of dudes who have been absolutely busting their asses for years to become D1 football players could learn something from some girl who shows up for like 3 days, talks shite to them for not being peppy enough when they're getting their asses beat, and then goes and brags about it to a reporter. fricking really? Have you ever played a sport?
First, yes - I've played sports back in high school. I remember we were always trying to get folks pumped up when we were losing, even badly (but to be fair, it was baseball, so no matter how far you're down you can always win.)
On the flip side, I've seen players flex after getting a sack while down 30. I've seen players celebrate a TD that gets them within 21 with 5 minutes left. Should we tell those guys to STFU?
I'm not saying "she's 100% right" but I'm also saying "why not get pumped even when losing?"
Bragging about it to the reporter? Posting a video of her kicking a soccer ball? All of that, though, was bullshite. Also, I guess I envisioned it more of a "come on guys" kind of moment, not a "you guys suck because you don't cheer" kind of moment. If it's the latter, then yeah - she can go frick herself.

There is no fricking way you have ever played football.

I'm guessing this is a rhetorical question but the answer is likely that she kicked that ball as hard as she possibly could against Mizzou and it went 30 yards. I mean good for her, she got to play in a college football game. That's a lot more than I can say for myself, and it's a cool story she can tell for the rest of her life. But if the other kickers are available now she needs to read the room and bow out in deference to the players who have actually put in the work to be there.

When I was a kid, sure.
Was too skinny to play when I was older. Folks had me on weight gain shite that tasted terrible, still couldn't gain enough weight. Ended up working as the field medic instead. Closest I could get to the field.
I won't make up some bullshite medical condition; it was simply being 5' 10" and weighing 110 lbs that kept me from playing anything. Managed a whopping 8 more pounds before I graduated.
Then I got into my 20s and discovered beer.

Really?
You haven't seen it? As soon as she kicked the ball she turned and started walking toward the sideline. When the ball hit the ground and started rolling she went into a full trot. I guess she was scared somebody might try to return her "kick".

Yes it does. It happened in THIS universe just a few days ago. Welcome to our new woke world.

40 current players on the roster could kick as well as the effort from last week. Hell, I'm 64 and I could kick the ball 30 yards. The players recognize this as a PC stunt by the university and aren't putting up with it. Good for them.

That right there is complete & utter BS on so many levels, mostly because this clown has never been in a competitive locker room and the other reason is none of that happened. My buddy’s FIL is retired MSHP & he & his crew of retired MSHP handle security for both MU & visiting coaching staffs. They were overwhelmed with press requests once it was announced there was a possibility that this girl would kick during an actual D1 football game. But due to the ‘Rona restrictions they had a set number of media passes & when and where that access would be made available. He said that story by the MSM & ESPN that she stood up in the locker room & gave a Rocknesque speech was complete and utter bullshite as she never entered the visitor’s locker room. She and her family were in front of TV cameras all during halftime and they were prepping her for the second-half kickoff. He said it was nothing more than a publicity stunt & a ratings grab by the network if you would have seen her in pre-game it was obviously never a viable option.
ETA; I got the story straight from the horse’s mouth on Sunday while drinking beer down on the farm watching the Chiefs-Bucs game.

Yes. Few things in sports look as sorry as some guy down 41-7 breaking up a pass and carrying on like he's Deion Sanders.

Saw a random YouTube video of the actual (game) kick. Here were some of the comments:

I saw Charlie Brown kick farther than that
They treated this girl like she was a Make-a-Wish kid or something.
We just saw history. Remember where you were today so you can tell your grandchildren that you witnessed the worst kickoff ever in a power 5 conference game
There are two people cheering:
- her mother
- the guy who previously held the record for the worst kickoff in a power five college football game.
Technically she broke two records, first girl and last girl to ever kick
"WTF, someone should've given me a heads up it was going to land on the 40." - The camera man
She couldn't break the glass ceiling, the ball didn't get that high.
“You can do anything!” Apparently anything but be a good kicker
The announcer says "I got chills", no that's called cringing bruh.
Best 5th string pandemic girl kicker in the history of football.
This stunt got her coach fired
