It won’t. The defensive team can easily substitute in 5-10 seconds. An offensive team can wait that long

Where were you when we played Georgia 2 weeks ago and it was 14-3? Defenses still exist, they just don't in the West

Not all low-scoring games are created equal.

It’s 2020. Nothing counts. Throw out the scores and the stats. It’s half-football. Next year you will see defenses tighten up a bit, although offenses will continue to have the advantage.

Football has been evolving for many years.

I don’t want to see a return to Game of the Century 9-6 scores. It’s gone totally the other way. There are too many good to great skill players to cover in space at the college level. A good receiver will beat a good defensive back 7 out of 10 times.

Rule changes are the only thing that would slow this down and that ain’t happening.

If they would just limit offensive linemen to one yard downfield instead of 3 on passing plays it would make some difference

Trask had 6 TDs yesterday. Vols have had 6 passing TDs in 6 games. Germy, that you?

Vols don't have a good QB and run a stoneaged offense

That is exactly my point. JG has never had more than 2 passing TDs in a FBS game -- ever. And Pruitt has made that worse by running an antique offense that OP pines for.

Our blowouts, ironically, are due more to the fact that we can't score than anything else. If he wants games where the teams keep it under 30, he needs to watch the last 3 seasons of the Vols. Even when they win the score is low and not because there's some great defensive performance going on by the other team that held them in check.

Same school I came from, incidentally. I didn't know that about Rogers, but I don't keep up much. Neat.

The hit by Cine on Pitts last Saturday was a thing of beauty. If that is illegal football is doomed.
