Idk. Kinda confused on it but some random person on twitter was saying the only way we’d be able to get single tickets after the JSU game would be through Stubhub. Guess we’ll find out soon enough....

With the way cases are trending up and now Biden in charge, I don’t even know if you will get 2300 for an indoor event after the middle of January.

Pfizer has the medicine now. If it works things will change drastically.

we are a long way from getting that to everyone. That's not happening soon. Although, it is a very encouraging.

I remember back when Marshall was a candidate for the Bama job, I tried to go to their board and just talk with them and get their insight on the whole situation and I’ve never seen a fanbase as bad as theirs. As soon as I’d comment something peacefully, not trolling them or anything, they’d immediately ban me within minutes. Ended up banning my IP or something and I couldn’t make anymore accounts I hope they suffer and their entire program falls apart. They deserve every bit of this.

The U.S. has contracted with them to get the first 100 million doses they manufacture, but only 50 million will be produced by the end of this year and basically all of that is going to go to healthcare workers and first responders.

not even quite that many by year's end

By the end of the year it will have manufactured enough doses to immunize 15 million to 20 million people, company executives have said.

Yeah either way they're saying it'll be next spring or summer before it's widely available to anyone who wants it. It's not like we're just going to be able to walk over to CVS next month and get a shot.

We’d better hope someone else’s vaccine comes thru. Pfizer’s has to be stored in an ultra cold freezer at -90F. Not even most large research and teaching hospitals are equipped with such a freezer. Pfizer developed a storage and shipping container using dry ice but it only comes in one size and holds 975 vaccines. Your local CVS ain’t going to want to invest in 975 of these hoping to use them before they go bad. You can store it at refrigerator temperature for just 5 days.

Absolutely. The only way we are going to return to normalcy anytime soon is if at least one or two more of the vaccines currently in their final stages of testing end up being viable for distribution.

I think this is common to all mRNA vaccines, which is unfortunate because they're also the easiest ones to rapidly produce in enormous quantities. Moderna's vaccine, which is also expected to be viable, is mRNA based as well.

You are correct, Moderna’s is an mRNA vaccine as well. But according to their information, their vaccine only requires-4F storage instead of the -94F Pfizer’s needs. That much more doable.

I heard a Doctor on TV a couple of days ago that said even if the vaccine is available by year end, we will still be wearing masks a year from now because it takes so long to build herd immunity.

That's probably not an inaccurate prediction. We'd probably need like 250 million people in the U.S. to become immune before achieving herd immunity. That would require about half of all the doses of the Pfizer vaccine that will be produced next year. Obviously other vaccines proving viable over the next few months would change that though.

The info on the Pfizer vaccine keeps getting better and better. What a cluster frick! I know now why they busted their arse to be first; because NOBODY will use this shite when the competition comes along.
The storage container Pfizer developed and is using in place of the freezer can only be opened twice a day for 1 minute or less each time. The dry ice must be replaced every 5 days. The vials you retrieve in that 60 seconds, when reconstituted, make 5 doses each. Those doses must be used within 6 hours or they must be discarded. Nobody knows, and Pfizer isn’t saying how long you can continue to use the container, nor how to obtain dry ice since it is already in short supply in some areas. Pfizer’s vaccine requires two doses per person 3 weeks apart. I’ve also heard some anecdotal reports that at least some of the trial participants developed some pretty rough adverse effects from it; flu like symptoms for 1-2 days after injections. And before you say that’s not bad, I did that with Shingrix and let me tell you, you feel like utter shite for 24 hours. I felt so bad I actually went and got a flu test. I know it beats the alternative but it’s certainly not pleasant.
