There’s a guy that works at Coleman who posted something on twitter about how 3,500 fans was the number being thrown around rn. Obviously that’s not final but I’d be happy with that.
REALLY hoping I can be there for the opener in 19 days

Not bad. I think that's higher than most in the SEC.

I’ve heard some well placed rumors of 3,000-3,500, first 5 rows empty. But with ‘rona spiking everywhere, nothing is set in stone, especially not this early.

So our new double games are Kentucky and Arkansas.
Probably not a bad thing, since that gives extra chances for quality wins

True. But that's a tough arse schedule. Hopefully we can at least go 1-1 with Aub, LSU, Ark, UF. Maybe even steal a series .
And at least 1-2 with UK and Tennessee

Schedule is back loaded with away games, 6 of 10 on the road

You pansies need to pull yourselves together regarding the schedule. The #1 overall seed in the big dance is earned, not given

JSU, Furman, ETSU should all be wins. Not a guarantee obviously, but if we want to take that step forward this year let's hope so.
It would be awesome to win the Maui tournament, but there are some pretty good teams we'd have to beat. Based on various preseason Pac12 projection articles, it looks most most expect Stanford to finish in the 2-5 range. Stanford should be pretty dang good this year and I view this game as a legitimate tossup at this point. Honestly would not be surprised if we won a close game or lost a close one. Would be a fantastic win for the resume and would make the following day much more exciting.
The Alabama/Stanford winner will advance to play the winner of UNC/UNLV. I'm going to do the lazy thing and assume that UNC will beat UNLV.
If we beat Stanford, it's hard to say how a matchup with UNC will look. They were pretty bad last year, but you can't really expect that to happen again. They brought in the #2 recruiting class in the country with five top 65 players and are expected to finish in the 1-3 range in the ACC. I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility for us to beat them, but we would certainly be an underdog in this matchup.
If we have to play UNLV in our second game, we would be expected to win that game. UNLV is expected to finish somewhere in the 2-5 range in the Mountain West. Regardless of what happens in the first two games of Maui, there are several options of who our third game would be against, so i'll skip that for now.
Based on various preseason ACC projection articles, it looks most most expect Clemson to finish somewhere in the 8-10 range in the ACC. Should be a pretty decent game, but also a very winnable game. The fact that it is a neutral floor game in Atlanta and part of Holiday Hoopsgiving, I think this game is very important to win. Not only for our resume - neutral floor win against an ACC team - but a standalone game in a special event like Holiday Hoopsgiving in Atlanta will certainly have a few more eyeballs on it and will only help our recruiting efforts off the floor as well.
Based on various preseason American projection articles, it looks most most expect Houston to win their conference and be a top 10/15/20 type team. This is a huge game for the resume. Depending on how well we perform up to this point of the season, this could be a ranked vs ranked game in Tuscaloosa and has the potential to be a very fun game. We need to protect home court and pull off the big win in this one.
Based on various preseason Big12 projection articles, it looks most most expect Oklahoma to finish in the middle of the pack of the Big12. This is a true road game though, so we will have make sure our guys are focused. This is an important game for our resume - and for the SEC/B12 Challenge - but on paper it looks like it should also be a very winnable game for us.

Man that is an impressive roster, don't think if we have ever had so many good basketball players on the team at one time. Terrific job by Oats and the coaches.

I just hope this roster will have some dogs because our execution at the end of halves / closing games was rough at times last year. It’d be nice to have 5 guys on the court that want the ball in clutch situations.

I'm hoping that's what Rojas and Ellis are. Ellis was a great defensive player at the JUCO level, and Oats has said multiple times Rojas is a tough player.
We've missed having a player like Chris Hines on the team the last few years.
I think Shack can develop into a clutch player also. He improved tremendously down the stretch in taking the ball to the rim. We all know he's a dagger from outside.

I also look forward to reading the first few pages of this thread after we have another February collapse - like every year.

Doubt basketball season will make it to February, so no February collapse.
