Not my point. We've always had excellent NFL teams that passed first in the scheme. They also had running games that allowed them to stay somewhat balanced. What I saw from Leach's scheme Saturday would get an NFL QB killed. It was far too one dimensional to ever keep the Kalia Macks and Aaron Donalds off the QB for 2 seconds. Frankly, vs Alabama, it certainly didn't do Costello any good either.

Historically Leach’s QBs are among the least sacked in CFB. Last year
Burrow -who had the best OL in CFB- 527 attempts, sacked 34 times
Wazzou QB 689 attempts, sacked 20.

A concept from the Edwards BYU teams. Wide Splits and Vertical Set protection QB in the gun. Widens DEs out and makes DTs run farther to get to QB
Hence the hurry up, 70 plays of that and defenses feel the toll late in the 4th
