I wouldn't call Jackson's NFL career great by any means. 39 TD passes in 10 years and never had more than 14 in one season. Minnesota replaced him with Brett Favre going into his 4th season.

I meant in regards to his college career. He never got a chance to shine, so the fact he went on and played as much as he did was remarkable.

I guess I could have worded that differently.

He would have been a better choice at QB than Jones because he had a stronger arm. Then Jones should have been moved to WR. If Nutt ever cared a bout QB development then the 2002 and 2003 seasons would be better.
