In 2000 at LSU versus Hal Mumme and Kentucky. LSU won 34-0.

I'm looking at the game summary for that game. Kentucky actually out-gained LSU in total yardage 397-339 and moved the ball fairly well but choked hard every time they got into LSU territory. Kentucky also had miserable field position all game. 9 out of their 12 drives started inside their own 25 yard line. Here's Kentucky's drive summaries for the game.

1st Drive- Kentucky drove to the LSU 28 yard line on a 12 play, 55 yard drive and missed a field goal.

3rd Drive- Kentucky drove to the LSU 23 yard line on a 11 play, 64 yard drive and turned the ball over on downs.

4th Drive- Kentucky drove to the LSU 38 yard line on a 12 play, 60 yard drive and turned the ball over on downs.

8th Drive- Kentucky drove to the LSU 31 yard line on a 7 play, 46 yard drive and turned the ball over on downs.

11th Drive- Kentucky drove to the LSU 24 yard line on a 10 play, 56 yard drive and turned the ball over on downs.

You also have to remember this was Saban's first year at LSU, a team that went 3-8 the year prior and was only 3-3 heading into that game. Holding a Jared Lorenzen air raid offense to under 400 yards and no points under those circumstances is pretty damn good.

Looking deeper into the game. Kentucky had 280 passing yards on 55 attempts. They actually ran a shite load more than Leach has in any game this year. Kentucky going 1 of 6 on 4th down didn't help them either.
