I expected more from Bert... knowing the success he’d had in Whiskey. Surprised me mostly because Arkansas had usually been able to field an excellent O line and very good to excellent RB’s. Didn’t quite turn out as I would have thought.

He also had success in vodka, which I think was mostly his problem.

Bert was a CEO type coach like Orgeron or Pittman; he couldn't retain assistants, such as Pittman

Had he kept his drinking under control, I think he would have signed the best class we've ever had in the modern era and there was good reason to think it would continue. Instead, he showed up at recruiting visits and passed out on their couch or just didn't show up at all.
