This is the correct answer. You being knowledgeable doesn’t mean you’re a great coach. If the players can’t grasp or perform what you are teaching it’s your job to find a way to get them to perform. That’s the difference in a teacher and a coach.

I would love to sit down with a major college coach and have them explain to me how they teach their schemes to players. Not too many 4-5 star players are geniuses and the best ones will be gone in three years. There’s no way for them to come anywhere close to handling the A-Z scheme knowledge of someone like Saban.
