The players and the mothers of the players really like that it makes them feel like a family. Some players didn't even have mothers growing up.
You guys are kind of the weirdos fetishizing it. I understand, because I came from a pretty cold family and to me it looks very strange on the outside, but suggesting other stuff kind of makes me worry about how much sleep you lose at night to a woman just trying to improve their station in life.
