I honestly think Auburn is dumb enough time keep him after this season. But in the event that they do, I believe he really is on the hot seat next year. But watch. Next year he’ll have a fantastic year, going like 11-1 with a loss only to Georgia and get an extension for a playoff berth.
He doesn’t have to do that well to keep his job. That buyout is +$21MM and with the revenue loss due to COVID and likely 2 yrs of losses in basketball revenue, not many AD’s will can a HC with that size buyout.

Let's not convince ourselves that the athletic program is paying the buyout.

Auburn's usual group of big $$$ will get a bill, and Yellawood lumber will be a little bit higher at Home Depot.
