Most of Leach's classes at Tech were ranked in the 30s-40s nationally.

Wrong. He had a class ranked 75th an 71st and some in the 50s... He averaged 47th in the nation.

From the mullen years til now MSU ranks around 26th average.

LMAO! Leach wasn't at TT for 10 years.

Take out those two outliers and it 39.1.

No. It's part of it. You can't just remove a recruiting class.

So on average the talent level of MSU today, vs. TT during Leach's 10 years there is about 10-12 spots higher in national recruiting ranking.

And you can't even do simple math. Even going with your numbers... 46-27 is NOT 10. LOL!!!!!!!

First to MSU fans. Are you beat down that much? Has you football history trained you to have a loser mentality?

I graduated from State in 1974. Three out of the four years, we barely had 623 passing yards the whole year under Charley Shira.

Think we won 16 games in my 4 years!

Leach at Washington fricking State with recruiting classes in the 60s lost. He had never had the talent level state has and will continue to have. There isn’t enough known to say that

In 9 years he never won less than 7 games at TT. And the two 7 win seasons were his first 2 there. He averaged 9 wins and had one 11 win season. If he can do that at MSU I’ll be perfectly happy especially if those seasons have one or two exciting upsets over a top program

I say this all the time, " Please don't Mississippi State this, Please Mississippi State this." I said it Saturday and I know that other Mississippi State fans does this too.

He recruited well at Texas Tech back then, probably about on par with MSU now. Same results. Had elite recruits at Oklahoma too.

First, not nearly as well as MSU has recruited. Second, he was at Oklahoma for one year.

Hell, in 2012 and 2014 he only got 8 each year enrolled.

he signed 23 in 2012 and was ranked 58th. OK but only 8 made it to enrollment. I wonder how far that class would have fallen if they only got 6 rated players with 2 3star and 4 - 2stars with 3 NR players?

2014 was a little better.. He got five rated players enrolled but they all were 3 stars.

2013? only decent year with 50th ranking and 30 players.. wow Highest was a .8939 QB the rest would be walkons at most SEC schools

His record with those players is out of this world.

I will look at Tech's now... let's see

Come on man...

shite, true State fans were expecting them to call the teams back out onto the field after the game and add five more minutes to the clock.

Tech's recruiting was much better

2001 - not a single rated player signed or enrolled... Hmmm.. is that glitch in the 247 website? surely it is

2002 - 34th nationally - respectable

2003 - 71st... inconsistent at best

2004- 39th nationally - depth could be a problem still

2005 - 38th ... just starting to get consistent talent but still no game changers except the QB and WR positions

2006 - 28th... he about to get this ball rolling

2007 - 42nd. nope just can't do it

2008 - 75th again.. dropping out of sight

Nothing about this says this is equal recruiting to State

Recent recruiting suggest that you can get 8-10 4 star or better players to Starkville every year and he is opening up the door at the QB & WR positions in way that has never before been seen.

The biggest win for State from this past Saturday will be in recruiting. I think it's going up a notch. This year is about done but don't count on it.

Not sure what L you're talking about. You posted the same recruiting rankings I did.

I say the difference in talent level from a team that recruits in the low 20's to one that recruits in the low 30's/mid 40's is negligible. I say it because both of those teams will generally end up in the same 7-9 win range with a middling bowl game.

You and other State fans obviously think it makes a big difference.

That's the crux of our difference in opinion, and there's not really any hard and fast data to support either side.
