How can anyone be against this?

People (school admins) will be against this due to money. They like being able to schedule 4 cupcakes and only needing to win 2 conference games to get a bowl bid. With it being a bowl revenue sharing league, I doubt the ADs/Presidents would like the idea of the potential for less money in their pockets come bowl season. 10 conference games would make it much more unlikely those bottom tier teams get to bowl eligibility, which trickles down to everyone else.

From a fan perspective, a 10 game SEC schedule would be awesome. Would get to play every team in the conference every 2-3 years instead of every 6 years for the rotating cross-division teams right now.
