Seriously- not very complicated. Obviously a hard thing to do, but it’s straightforward.

One: improve facilities - a huge factor for recruitment. A nice stadium/arena/ballpark is invaluable.

Two: energize the freaking fan base. It’s embarrassing seeing away team majority crowds in Nashville.

Three: make a home run hire.

These three things are pretty much how Auburn basketball has gotten to where it is. We built a brand new arena, and hired the perfect head coach in Pearl. He energized the fan base, and recruiting picked up a lot, followed by wins.

Any program can do this. AU basketball was bottom of the barrel.

It's a small, private school with mostly out of state students who couldn't care less about sports and don't stick around the area after they graduate. They're never going to have the support for athletics that a flagship state school has to compete at that level.
