Would you rather start with one of those four or get a winnable game to kick off the season. There is a rumor that Mississippi State and Alabama are kicking off the season.

One side of me is lets get that out of the way and another would like to have a sure win like Arkansas, Vanderbilt or Texas A&M to start the season.

I think you want a game that you know that you can compete in. A blowout in week 1 can derail a young team and/or a team with a new coaching staff.

A&M here, as much as it would probably benefit our senior laden team to get a tough one early, I'd still rather get a winnable game like Arkansas first to get things rolling. Easy 9th win in a row against those shitty people and a nice scrimmage to get ready for week 2. The next week, give me Florida at home. Pick em game.

As a team with a new coaching staff and young roster, I want an easier game week one to help ease us into the gauntlet that we are gonna have to go through.

Unlike Alabama, Georgia and LSU, Florida hasn't beaten A&M in 8 seasons.

Don't give a damn. We're not winning more than 2-3 games regardless.

I hope Bama opens with LSU, Georgia or Auburn.

Hate to present you with the bad news; but UF is not a pick'em for TAMU. Prepare for a Gator beat down on that arse.

Yeah it is actually. Very similar recruiting over the last 4 years. Both teams have lots of experience returning. Both are dominant along the DL. I give a slight edge to UF along the OL and secondary. But I'll take A&M's weapons at WR/TE. Coaching probably a wash. If you were to tell me that Florida is favored by 3 then I wouldn't argue with that. Should be a good game.

So does that mean they are going with closest geographically to start the season? I’m fine with that.

LSU fan, so it doesn't really count:

like Tigerlunatik said, you want a game you can compete in.

You don't necessarily need to win, but you want to see what works and what doesn't.

LOL I don't really know much about yours, but ours was pretty terrible last year. We have lots of Seniors now, but they aren't any good so I just gave UF the edge by default.

Secondary is typically a place where I would always give an edge to Florida over A&M, and I still do for this season, but Fisher/Elko have recruited very well there the last two seasons. Lots of excitement with that group for 2020.

With no OOC cupcakes someone is gonna step on the grenade and play Bama first.

We already know who that will be.

Step on down Arkansas.
