Their food is catered by whatever company the university has a contract with. The cost of providing food to the athletes is much less than you and I have to pay to buy food at the grocery store.

To that other poster asking about players food, it might not be shitty cafeteria food, but it is low budget Aramark Food Services Food, they have the cafeteria contract at hundreds of Colleges around the Country

The food that Athletes get is a hiccup better than the crap the regular students eat, but they get unlimited amounts of the highly mediocre Aramark Food Services, contract quality food

No way is it premium food specially prepared by award winning chefs and worth $26.60 per meal like the Athl Dept marketing materials would lead you to believe

Maybe at Georgia Tech

LSU began to develop ideas for a nutrition center seven years ago. The school wanted to help its athletes by providing healthy, well-made meals, but it struggled to find a location near LSU’s athletic facilities.

On Wednesday, LSU finally unveiled its nutrition center. School officials cut a ceremonial ribbon in front of the new building, and LSU gave tours of the space, which had cost $28 million in private donations from the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

Chef Michael Johnson took over as executive chef four months ago. He had attended culinary school, gotten married and started a family over 12 years in Baton Rouge. He moved away, eventually working with the Seahawks.

Have you ever eaten in the athletic dining hall at Georgia Tech? Is the experience that bad?
