No, it’s not about to get real because as you see, people still won’t take the basic necessary precautions to get this thing under control.
The vast majority of Americans are adhering to the rules. This idea that we are flaunting the social distancing guidelines set out by the government is a misnomer, based on sensationalist media reports. The data shows that we adhered to the lock downs just as well as Europe did. Polls consistently show that a super majority of Americans are perfectly fine with wearing masks in public.

Yes it appears many decided to conform but now we are seeing that not be the case with students returning to campus. There already major universities here in my state(elsewhere as well) already seeing outbreaks and having to issue fines because students are not conforming. All they are required to do is wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Not a hard concept.
Duke has a hotline for students to call in for other students not complying. If the students can not conform campuses will be closed down.
I am not sure how much more hand holding these young adults need to understand if they want to be on campus follow guidelines.

I think adherence has gotten a lot better over the last month or two, but it wasn't that great the first few months.
I also think there's a legitimate concern about how college students will adhere once they are on campus. Not really during the day, but at night and on the weekends.

You ain't gonna win over the pearl clutchers from that pitiful thread at the top of the board. The goal posts move every frickin day and they just move blindly along with them.
