This isn't the same type of virus either. We currently have no vaccine... We do have a treatment that has shown decent results. This isn't going away any time soon either. The virus doesn't seem to GAF about heat so there is no seasonality to it. There are gonna be another 2-300k that die from it over the next 18 months. I know someone that was 40 perfectly health and exercised regularly that was on a vent and hospitalized for 17 days.
When it hits someone hard it is rough AF.

Think of it as the entire population randomly given a set of football pads and all of them having to get drilled by Lawrence Taylor in his prime. There are some people that are gonna die. Some people are gonna get shoulder pads and a helmet. Those that don't if you are 20 years old and in shape you will shake it off. If you are 80 you will likely die without pads or compromised immune system... But if you get lucky and get pads and a helmet and don't have any conditions you'll survive but feel like you got hit by the Mack truck.

Some of the young guys will even be able to dodge the tackle entirely.

That's my point - those that call this "another flu" & expect the same mortality rate of the 2.
