Yeah doesn’t feel like that trumps you know being anti-civil rights, and a segregationist.
So let's go ahead and tear down every statue and monument honoring someone who lived prior to the Civil Rights era. Let's rename every building named after someone prior to the Civil Rights era.
MLK was a homophobe and an alleged rapist. Time for him to go. The Republican Party in 1860 supported deporting African slaves back to Africa. There goes Lincoln. Where does it end? Where does it stop?

We should literally never stop evaluating our history.
There is a difference between living in pre civil war America and pre-civil rights America and living during the civil rights era and actively opposing it.
That’s Storm Thurmond legacy and it’s not accidental. He’s not allegedly against civil rights that was his platform.
And while everyone needs to be judged based on their times, he was was regressive and racist by 1950s standards.

How about we just take down the statues honoring traitors to our country who formed a government whose sole purpose was to keep slaves? Then we can have a discussion about other people.
