I clearly disagree with slavery. However we are just discussing "reminders" of slavery. Not the act in itself. There are constant reminders to slavery, segregation, etc. woven into our society that we simply can't just cover up. It's asinine to think that we can.

It isn’t about trying to cover up certain aspects of our history. It’s about replacement.

They want to replace our history with their own version to satisfy their desire for power and control.

They’re not playing the same game you are and your attempts at pleasant conversation will do nothing.

You don’t name a building After someone or build a statue of someone to remember as reminder. These are honors.

And I am not for every statue being dragged down, but should we be honoring segregationists? What else is Storm Thurmond known for?

George Washington- first President, lead the IS forces in the American revolution. Pretty big contributions beyond owning slaves.

Compare that to a statue of Jefferson Davis or Robert E Lee.
