I played sports so I’m aware of how things work. With the idea that athletes may start generating income from merchandise sales is poking a portion of your fan base a good idea?

So the players aren't allowed to express their own opinions? As asinine as some of these things have become such as the Okie State controversy it's equally as ridiculous seeing grown men get upset over some 20 year old speak his mind

We’re still at least a year away from that being an option to athletes so we will see what the market says then. Still, you’re not obligated to like every guy on the team. Mind you, nobody on the team has done anything illegal or even shameful to dislike them for; they’re doing the most American thing imaginable by voicing their opinions same as you or I. In the same turn, I can disagree with their opinions but still like them and buy anything they end up being a spokesperson for to support them and not feel bad or hypocritical about it.

No because of the melting that will occur from the snowflakes. Players have been shielded from the ignorance and hate of their own fan bases for a long time, and that shield is being removed. I can only imagine how much shite Chubba got from idiot poke fans.
