Why is it bullshite? China took it seriously, unlike Trump. I’m not condoning China’s draconian tactics they used on their people, but they certainly did not downplay the threat after the initial surge.
You mean shutting down travel and sending PPE to Asia/EU to slow it's chances of making it to the US before anyone else thought to?

While the Dems were calling him a racist and xenophobe for doing this?

And while the Dems were "downplaying" the virus to a point they were telling people to ignore the warnings and come party with them in parades and do what they normally do?

And if Trump would have been more "draconian" with his tactics, too (which is clearly what you're advocating he should have done to "take it seriously" just like China did), then not only would the Dems and media have gone apeshit calling him a tyrant/totalitarian/dictator, but you know damn well YOU would have been here crying that he's being a tyrant, too.

It doesn't matter what he would have done, you would still be complaining and hating.

Also, masks are a double-edged sword. They are arguably making things worse, just as the extended lockdowns are/have made things much worse than the actual virus.

Extended use of face masks and seclusion do just as much to harm and diminish a person's immunity and infection fighting systems, as well as damn near every other biological system we have, as it does attempting to prevent infection.

On top of this, wearing a face mask not only causes people to inhale significantly more carbon dioxide (causing possible pseudo-asphixiation, nerve damage, brain damage, renal damage, respiratory damage), but it greatly suppresses oxygen intake, increases cortisol levels, and stresses the respiratory function (a pseudo-hypoxic state) to the point it creates a very dangerous sympathomimetic overdrive (an overall reduction/suppression of your sympathetic system). Which can not only cause irreparable permanent damage to your lungs, heart, arteries, nervous system, and brain function, but it can very easily make you so immuno-deficient, that you get horribly sick from everything all the time, including COVID.

PLUS, these masks really only keep potentially exposed/infected people from transmitting it to others via droplets. But this virus is already supposedly airborn, and the molecules are so small, they easily pass through the pours of a mask and any slight gaps between your face and the mask every time you inhale.

The media and Establishment, and the "experts" they pay to deliver the "narrative" to you, is not for your/our benefit. These people don't freaking care about us.

How many times can you see them openly lie and mislead you about shite and you decide to stop trusting and believing them? It's astounding that folks like you just keep accepting what they say as truth or fact over and over. I just don't get how you do this to yourself.

No I’m not. You literally cannot help yourself from putting words in other people’s mouths. There are plenty of other liberal (small “l”) democracies who have their situation under control, with South Korea being the gold standard. I would advocate for the South Korean approach. My point in bringing up China is that it’s sad they have it under control and we don’t.

And please cite some evidence for the massive pile of bologna you spew about masks.

I listen to doctors and scientists. If doctors and scientists now qualify as the “deep state”, then I guess I’m above salvation. I’m not going to listen to the swamp monsters and sycophants with whom Trump has filled his administration.
