First, frick the NCAA.
Second, the kids should be compensated in some manner more than what is currently allowed by the NCAA.

Finally, IMO the elephant in the room for CFB is the NFL. They use CFB as it's farm system, so as long as the NFL and their owners (who the majority are billionaires) like that arrangement, CFB will exist pretty much as we know it.

I agree, but it needs to be heavily regulated and controlled otherwise CFB becomes NFLjr although worse because there is no draft system to encourage parity.

Also, fix the undergrad transfer drama with a simple solution.

No waiting period for transfers.

Scholarships and compensation are a 2-way 4-5 year contract - basically good for an undergrad degree.
If a player makes good grades and shows up to practice and reasonably follows coaches instructions, they get a scholarship and stipend for their entire undergrad. No questions asked.
If they get a multi-season/career ending injury, scholarship and pay is honored but doesn’t count against university’s total.

They fail school or quit football, that scholarship gets pulled, and the university frees up a scholarship slot. Player is also ineligible to use the rest of their eligibility at any other school until they graduate (to avoid loopholes with the next caveat)

If they decide to transfer, they owe all that money back to the school, including the years they already attended. If the receiving university wants to pay that tab, their scholarship total is affected for every year they pay that school + any scholarship they give that player. So if they buy off a player’s 4 year contract + give him a scholarship for 2 years, that’s 1 slot over the next 6 years.

Any player can get out of their contract and freely transfer if they do not see at least 12 plays a season after their freshman year.
