If Saban doesnt "rely on assistants", how did Jimbo, Muschamp, Kirby, Pruitt, and the others get hired as head coaches, especially if they weren't doing anything?

Saban hired Kiffin to bring in some new offense and hired Sark (twice!) to do the same.

Alabama also hasnt been able to win a championship without Pruitt or Kirby under Saban.

Saban relies on assistants as much as anyone, he's very good at identifying good ones too.

Meyer had Ryan Day, Tom Herman, and Dan Mullen just off the top of my head.

Any successful college football head coach in this day and time relies on assistants.
