Not sure why people use the fact that O surrounds himself with good assistants as a knock.

Who doesnt?

Clemson's continued success is often attributed to Dabo's skill at keeping his assistants mostly intact.

Plenty of Bammers point to the constant staff turnover as one of the issues at Bama lately.

In what universe is that a knock?

My working theory here is that the emotional rise and fall of the O-type leader leads to the peaks and collapses we've seen from other similar coaches. People like him can jump start a program on energy and motivation and cultural matching, but after the surge, can it be sustained at a high level?

And my reference was to the idea that sustaining a program with that type of leader might require that you get different "style" coaches who are less reliant on those attributes.
