Anyone who had to use the hand scanner system to get into the dining halls is immune to Corona Virus.

It still disgusts me to think about that system.

Head to the hand sanitizer aisle in any store and report back. They’re all out.

Athens-Clarke coronavirus updates: what to know Friday
March 18, 2020
Earlier this week, the commission limited gatherings to fewer than 10 people in bars, restaurants and entertainment venues.

The distancing and “shelter-in-place” rules will be enforced with education and guidance, not fines, arrests or jail, Athens-Clarke County Mayor Kelly Girtz said in Thursday night’s emergency meeting.

The commission also approved spending $3 million to help people, businesses and agencies impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Several commissioners expect to appropriate more money than that to help those suffering the economic toll of the pandemic.

The commission’s vote came after they heard presentations from the Georgia Department of Public Health, University of Georgia public health authorities and a letter signed by a dozen of Athens’ top physicians, including the dean of the UGA-Augusta University Medical Partnership Dr. Michelle Nuss.

They also saw a video by Dr. Lewis Earnest of St. Mary’s Hospital, after he had treated his second COVID-19 case.

Earnest and the doctors pleaded with the commission to enact the strict measures to halt the COVID-19 spread in Athens-Clarke County and the region.

Kinda funny, kinda not funny.
