If that happens those handoffs won't matter.


it would absolutely matter if he's good enough to be the starting quarterback but, like Najee Harris, wants to improve his NFL status with one more year.

The hand offs in that 5th game cost him a year's eligibility. We can try to spin it away but it's a fact.

I was more in the camp that he did need to be ready because there was a reasonable chance he would be needed against Auburn or perhaps in the bowl game. I wanted him to go in there and get at least a quarter of running the offense with the whole playbook open. He did need the experience if he was suddenly thrust into the starting role. However, going in the game and handing it off a few times did nothing for anyone except make this year count against his eligibility.
